Esi was called to the Ghana Bar in October 2019 and joined the firm as a pupil after her call. Before the call, she gained a lot of professional experience from clerking for several Justices of the High Court of Ghana, where she was primarily involved in legal research and had the unique opportunity of analysing cases from a neutral perspective.
She holds an LLM from the Pennsylvania State University, with specializations in corporate law, commercial law, banking and financial regulation, public interest law, administrative law and law, science and technology; an LLB from the University of Ghana, Legon and a BSc. in Land Economy from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Her areas of practice are Civil Litigation, Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Labour Law, Property Law, Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
In her role as an associate, Esi has played a vital part in various transactions and representing clients in litigation matters. Notably, she advised on the acquisition of a logistics company by a cross-border buyer and successfully secured judgments in 3 debt recovery lawsuits for a multinational corporation, totaling over 2 million dollars. Esi has also supported and advised clients on a wide range of issues in her area of expertise.
Esi is also a member of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors and practices as a Chartered Valuation and Estate Surveyor along with the legal practice.
After her LLM program she had the opportunity to gain practical experience by working with a boutique law firm in the United States where she worked as a paralegal and assisted in the management of a class action suit for the recovery of royalty payments in excess of 25 million dollars and other corporate and real estate matters.
