Michael is a seasoned legal and financial services executive with over 15 years of leadership experience in banking, corporate governance, and dispute resolution. He has advised and represented clients in complex legal matters, combining expertise in litigation, mediation, and corporate advisory with a strong background in credit administration and risk management. He is also a Notary Public of the Republic of Ghana.
Before joining Afriyie, Dwamena & Associates, he held several notable leadership positions: serving as Head of Credit Administration at Agricultural Development Bank PLC, Head of Legal & Company Secretary at IFS Financial Services, and Head of Legal at Capital Bank, where he was responsible for corporate governance, litigation management, and compliance oversight.
He holds advanced degrees in Corporate & Commercial Law (LLM) and Alternative Dispute Resolution (MA) from the University of Ghana, complemented by certifications in Risk Management, Banking Fraud, and Labour Dispute Resolution. Beyond corporate practice, he is deeply committed to social justice, serving as Director of the Juvenile Justice Project and as a Member of the Discharge Board at the Senior Correctional Centre, supporting rehabilitation and reintegration of juvenile offenders.
Michael is a member of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) and the Ghana Association of Certified Mediators and Arbitrators (GHACMA).
